Filigree

I've been obsessed with filigree for years. Real filligree! Awhile back I bought a book called Silver Threads: Making Wire Filigree Jewelry by Jeanne Rhodes-Moen to get some inspiration. I finally made this ring last night, and fell in love with it! I only had one "oops" ring before this one *grin*

My oops was that I used too thick of square wire for the bands and to get the joints hot enough to solder (even tho I started with hard solder and these were with easy) I had to use too much of a flame and the scrollwork joints were softed and snapped when I was rounding the ring. Ring #2 turned out perfect. I was going to polish away more of the patina but ended up loving it right at this stage.
