Another New Item With Lackluster Photos.

*Sigh*

I got really excited when I came up with the idea for my newest item. Its a necklace that comes with a pendant and matching rings, made to wear all together strung on a chain. But when I introduce it to people, all I get is negative comments about my photography :( I *know* my photos are my weakest point, but I can't afford an $800 camera right now! Yes, I know how to use macro and white-balance, and yes I have a light-box but it doesn't actually help. I know to use natural indirect sunlight and a tripod and a timer, but my pictures are still dark and grainy. What am I supposed to do?

Well, anyway, here is my new line of Ring Pendants. Please be gentle and look past my appalling photography.

Oh, I like that pendant! For some reason, whenever I'm crouched down peering into my too-small lightbox trying to get the right angle on a piece of jewelry, I start thinking about food dressers - you know, those guys who put lipstick on strawberries to make them look riper? Who knew that taking good jewelry photographs would be so difficult? It's amazing.

Why don't you share with us your camera model and the settings you are using? Maybe someone can make a suggestion on how to improve with what you have.

Also, are you using daylight bulbs in your lightbox? They can really make all the difference. :)

I like this one!

By the way, have you tried using Noiseware by Imagenomic? if not, then maybe you may wanna give it a try :)

visit this link imagenomic.com/download.aspx and scroll down, then try to download the community edition.

I see your pendant just fine, Nicole. Your art comes through the creation of the jewelry itself!

Nice jewelery! I think the pics look great. I have troubles too getting good shots. The last pic I posted with a story had the background in focus, and the foreground fuzzy. I didn't see it until it was too late! If you come up with good photography ideas, you should post about it!

Taking good pictures is the hardest part for me, too, and definitely time consuming. Pictures aside, your new pendant rings are so much fun!

omigosh i hate the taking pictures part. I usually take 15 pics just to get 3 or 4 i like! i it soo hard but really on a market like ETSY you have to stand out. (i am not standing out, so maybe i need to post all of my pics and see what people think ;o))

keep it up.. and i happen to like your picture...and i love the new idea!
